In addition to digital X-rays, at Sherman Oaks Dental, your dentist or hygienist can use a pen-sized, comfortable wand fitted with a tiny intra-oral camera to take digital pictures of all areas of your teeth and gums.

The intra-oral camera allows us to:

• Capture the areas of your teeth that are hard to view with light and mirror alone.
• Expand the images in size for viewing on the full sized TV screens we have in each operatory room. This lets you see the condition of your teeth yourself.
• Save the images in your digital dental file for comparison with images taken of the same areas on future visits.
• Keep a running record of the condition of suspect or problematic areas so they can be closely monitored.
